Mary Callaghan Lynch has served as vocalist for Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors since our founding in 1977.
Mary a professional opera singer, graduated from Marian High School in Bloomfield Hills. She has since been elected to Marians Hall of Fame and is a recipient of the school’s Distinguished Alumna Award. Mary received her BFA from Marygrove College in Detroit.
Mary has performed in countless operas, was the soloist for the 1988 Papal visit to Detroit, and has performed for First Lady, Barbara Bush. She serves as classical voice coach for the “Queen of Soul”, Aretha Franklin, and is the Founder and Artistic Director of The Motor City Lyric Opera whose charitable outreach program has brought music with a message free of charge to over 50,000 of Metro Detroit’s underserved since its founding in 2002. But, Mary’s greatest joy is bringing comfort to the bereaved by singing at the funerals of their loved ones.
Mary is married to Lynch & Sons Co-Founder, Patrick Lynch. They are the proud parents of Caitlin, also a professional opera singer and Paddy an apprentice funeral director with Lynch & Sons.
