Robert S. Perry (Gruszczynski)
September 16, 1925 - November 29, 2012
Robert S. Perry of Birmingham died November 29, 2012, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Bloomfield Hills. He was 87 years old. Robert was born September 16, 1925, in Detroit to Catherine (nee Sarnowski) and Stanley Perry (Gruszczynski).

A native Detroiter, Robert attended Sacred Heart Seminary and graduated from Annunciation High School. He attended the University of Michigan and retired from Shell Oil Company in 1986, after 40 years of dedicated service.

Robert played in the Royal Oak Elks Golf League and was a member of St. Columban Church where he was an usher, sexton, and a member of the bowling league. He was also an umpire for the Birmingham Little League.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Robert was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Lorraine “Lorin” (nee Jedrzejewski) Perry, and children, Candace (Glenn Fiscus) Perry, Erick (the late Sara) Perry, and Cynthia (Richard Sayers, Jr.) Perry. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lt. Com. Troy P. (Sara) Glendye, USCG, Reid P. (Danielle) Glendye, Robert S. Perry II, Catherine W. Perry, and Elizabeth W. Perry, great-grandchildren, Mason, Connor, Kenley “Liv”, and Tyler, brothers, Stanley (the late Gloria) Perry and Ralph (Caroline) Perry, and several nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothea (Bob) Gogola and brothers, Arthur Perry and Clarence (Janet) Perry.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.), Clawson, Sunday 3-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Church of St. Alan, 2345 Coolidge, Troy, Monday at 9am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 8:30am. Burial in Guardian Angel Cemetery, Oakland Twp.
